Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering is started in the year 1980. It was affiliated to the Mysore University till 1992 and Kuvempu University during the year 1992 to 1997. At present programme affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. The program was accredited twice by National Broad of Accreditation, New Delhi and also accredited by NAAC, New Delhi.

The Program has an intake of 60 for Undergraduate students, 24 for Postgraduate students and the Program having Research center and is affiliated to VTU. Presently 6 candidates are working for Ph.D programme. The research focus of the department is primarily on Distributed Generation, Renewable Sources, Power System Security and their applications. High voltage Engineering, smart Grid, FACTS Devices & Power Electronics.

Department regularly conducting the technical talk, seminars, short term courses, hands-on training, workshops for students and faculty to bridge the technical gap between educational institutions and industries.
