From the conventional form of teaching, it is clear that traditional approaches alone do not comprehensively cover the space of potential learning. There is evidence that we have ample room for creating richer learning experience.  The learning experience could be deeper and lasting if we thoughtfully import industry collaborations into the existing engineering program structure. These collaborations should be defined to operate deeply not only within curriculum programs but also in the organization structure. The college should facilitate structured interactions among mentors from industries, students and faculty. The resulting curriculum should be aimed to build competencies in students as well as enable the growth of the faculty. We at Applied Cognition Systems feel that AIT  is effectively organizing such interactions and has been successful in bringing together the interests of industry and academia.
