WORKSHOP ON “APPLICATIONS OF DATA STRUCTURES”

One day workshop on “Applications of Data Structures” has been organized by the Dept. of CS&E for B.E students and faculties of various engineering colleges of Karnataka on 27th August 2016. The function inaugurated by the president of the function Dr. C. K. Subbaraya, Principal and Convener Dr. Pushpa Ravikumar, Professor & Head, Dept. of CS&E, AIT.

Dr. K. S. Shreedhara Professor, Department of Studies in CS&E, UBDTCE, Davanagere, Dr. Demian Antony D’Mello Professor & Head, Department of CS&E, Canara College of Engineering, Benjanapadavu, Mangalore and Dr. Venkatraman Bhat Professor, Department of CS&E, MITE, Moodbidri were the resource person for this function. Workshop addressed about Introdcution to data structures and it’s applications.

BRANCH FEST: “ABHIGNYA – 2016”

The Department of CS&E had organized the department fest “ABHIGNYA-2016” on 2nd May 2016 in BGS Block, AIT at 9.30 AM. Dr. C. K. Subbaraya, Principal, AIT, Chikkamagaluru inaugurated the function and delivered inaugural address.                ‘

Dr. Pushpa Ravikumar, Professor & Head, Dept. of CS&E presided over the function and addressed the students. This festival provides an opportunity for the students to involve and participates in different events and to prove themselves. This programme included C Coding, Mock Placement, Technical Quiz, Smoke Screen, Project Exhibition, On spot Choreography & Sports events like Cricket & Throw-ball. It was very helpful in improving their Technical & Cultural talents and provided personality development skills. Prizes were given away to students who got top two positions in the contests.

WORKSHOP ON “BIGDATA ANALYTICS”

A half day Workshop on “Big data Analytics” was held on 15-02-2016 in the department of computer science and engineering in association with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bangalore. Dr. K. Kesavasamy from TCS was the resource person.

The workshop was attended by the staff of CS&E and IS&E departments with PG students (M.Tech). Dr. K. Kesavasamy introduced the concept of Bigdata and enlightened the meaning of analytics with respect to data. The industry requirements and challenges in the field of Bigdata was discussed. The sessions were very interactive as the resource person was open to all the queries raised by the audience. A certificate was issued to all the participants from the TCS.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON “EMERGING TRENDS AND ADVANCES IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY” (NCETAIT-2016)

The department has conducted the two day National Conference on “Emerging Trends and Advances in Information Technology” (NCETAIT-2016) on 29th and 30th January 2016. The function inaugurated by the president of the function Dr. C.K.Subbaraya, Principal and Convener Dr. Pushpa Ravikumar, Prof. & Head, Dept. of CS&E, AIT.

Dr. Shobha G, Professor and Head, Dept. of CS&E, R.V College of Engg., Bengaluru, Dr. K. S. Shreedhara, Professor, Dept. of Studies in CS&E, UBDTCE, Davanagere, Dr. Rajashree Shettar, Professor, Dept. of CS&E, R.V College of Engg., Bengaluru, and Mr. Aravind Hiremath, Founder and Director, Asclepius Consulting & Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Secundarabad, Telangna State were the resource persons for this function. The conference NCETAIT-2016 was aimed to bring together researchers, academicians, scholars and experts from various backgrounds and application areas in Computer Science and Engineering. This conference provided a forum for the exchange of ideas amongst the students, scholars and researchers across the country, besides providing a common platform to demonstrate their research capabilities. We received 172 papers out of that 120 papers were selected for the paper presentation

WORKSHOP ON “MANAGING THE BIG DATA”

Two days workshop on “Managing the Big Data” has been organized by the Dept. of CS&E for M.Tech students and faculties of various engineering colleges of Karnataka during 27th and 28th February 2015. The function inaugurated by the president of the function Dr. C. K. Subbaraya, Principal and Convener Dr. Pushpa Ravikumar, Professor & Head, Dept. of CS&E, AIT.

Mr. Vijay P Rao, Director, Amrutha Varshini Vidhyalayam, Harihara was the resource person for this function. Workshop addressed about Introdcution to big data, business scenarios for big data, Hadoop and its Ecosystem, Map reduce and NoSQL and Hadoop related Tools.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON “RECENT ADVANCES IN COMPUTER ENGINEERING ” (RACE-13)

The department has conducted the two day National Conference on “Recent Advances in Computer Engineering” (RACE-13) on 26th and 27th April 2013. The function inaugurated by the president of the function Dr. C.K.Subbaraya, Principal and Conveners Mrs. Sunitha M. R., Associate Professor & Head, Dept. of CS&E and Mr. S. Sampath, Associate Professor & Head, Dept. of IS&E.

Dr. C. N. Ravikumar, Professor and Head, Dept. of CS&E, SJCE, Mysuru and Prof. Pushpa Ravikumar, Research Scholar, R.V College of Engineering, Bengaluru were the resource persons for this function. Dr. C. N. Ravikumar, Professor and Head, Dept. of CS&E, SJCE, Mysuru delivered key note address on “Challenges in Pattern Recognition and Image Processing” and Prof. Pushpa Ravikumar, Research Scholar, R.V College of Engineering, Bengaluru delivered a technical talk on “Data Mining”. Dr. C. K. Subbaraya delivered presidential address. TECHNICAL AND CULTURAL FESTIVAL: “UTOPIA – 2010”

The Department of CS&E had organized the department fest “UTOPIA” on 22nd April 2010 in BGS Block, AIT at 9.30 AM. Dr. C. K. Subbaraya, Principal, AIT, Chikkamagaluru inaugurated the function and delivered inaugural address.                Dr. C. M. Prashanth, Professor & Head, Dept. of CS&E presided over the function and addressed the students. This festival provides an opportunity for the students to involve and participates in different events and to prove themselves. This programme included C Coding, Mock Placement, Technical Quiz, Project Exhibition, On spot Choreography & Sports events like Cricket & Throw-ball.
